Sue's Continuous Weave Twill

This continuous weave starts with an oval wooden bottom. The color of the spokes can be chosen from the dyed reed. Sue dyes her own reed and has a wide variety of interesting colors. The base has a groove into which the colored spokes are inserted. The shape of the basket is determined by tightness of the weave. A black metal handle is woven into the rim. This basket takes concentration and perseverance. It's easy to mess up the pattern if you're not vigilant.

Each basket takes on its own shape depending on how tightly it's woven.

These next two are made by Julia.

Julia chose to use brown and apple green spokes.
This basket has been stained with Minwax Golden Oak spray stain.
